Why I Am Voting for Barack Obama

Let me start by saying that I have been a lifelong Democrat. With that said, however, I did vote for George W. Bush in the last election. I don't know why. Maybe I was out of my medication on voting day, however there it is. I've said it. I voted for George W. Bush.
It's not one of my proudest moments. My parents were both Democrat and sort of like religion, if your parents are one particular party then chances are your choices will be similar. My father's parents were Democrat also, however I do believe my Grandmother was a Republican, being raised by Republican parents. I never put much thought into the elections. I always picked a Democrat, regardless of everything else, until the day I selected George W. Bush from the crowd.

Politics was a high school passion of mine. I believed then, unlike now, that the right person with the right moral values would make the best decisions for the people they serve. Instead it seems to be all about lies, deceit, and money. They lie to Americans to get elected, then they lie to their colleagues about supporting issues they know their lobbyists wouldn't appreciate after money donated to election and re-election campaign funds. Soon I learned that every politician is crooked. They have to be. If they don't help grease someone's palm, there is another snake out there who will. Then that person will get the party backing and funding and soon they owe everyone. They are no longer their own person. I'm certain that can be said for every politician, but to have one that has not been a part of this "good old boy" network for generations, like Barack Obama, then maybe change can happen. And in regards to the honorable President George W. Bush making statements about supporting "Nazis" prior to World War II or during World War II, then he better look back to his grandfather. Enough said on that.

You are a very sad individual....the color of his skin doesn't matter at all. And that's the last reason I'm voting fr Obama. I dont care if he's purple or white I would still vote for him. He will bring about change to this nation black or white...You are so ignorant!

I'm a lifelong Democrat, but this time I'm voting for John McCain. Obama isn't 'black' he's a white guy in disguise. he won't help the black community and he sure as heck won't help America. I think Americans who believe him and trust him are very naive. Too sad.
