After waiting the two weeks it may take for your Netflix Roku to arrive you will be chomping at the bit to put it into action. Sure, some less than intellectually gifted Cheney-heads will have laughed at you and pointed out that there is nothing worth watching available from Netflix on the instant viewing list, but you brushed them off because you know that they believe Little Miss Sunshine is the very model of an independent film; the greatest independent film of the past twenty years. Bunch of Cheney-heads. If you are a fan of independent films, this the Netflix Roku will get quite the workout after that two week long wait.

In the Company of Men.
One of the most controversial indie films of the decade drops a moral quandary into the lap of your Netflix Roku by asking if you actually get the point of a film about two middle class businessmen who seduce a young woman and the drop her simply to enjoy the pleasure of destroying another human being. The premise may disgust you, but it is worth remembering as you watch this that Lolita isn't really about a pedophile.

Sherrybaby.
I haven't seen Sherrybaby but nearly every review I've read that was written after the Oscars asks how on earth Maggie Gyllenhaal wasn't even nominated for an Oscar, much less didn't win, for this role as a prison parolee trying a little bit to reacquaint herself with normality, such as it is.

Fitzcarraldo.
Director Werner Herzog returns to the continent of his earlier masterpiece Aguirre: The Wrath of God with this dramatization of a man with the mad vision of building an opera hall deep in the forest primeval of the Amazon. The centerpiece of this story is the attempt to force an enormous riverboat up a raging river. Admittedly, part of the power of the story is lost by virtue of the fact that Herzog accomplishes the very same thing, but the power is regained when you realize that the madness of Klaus Kinski's character is essentially a mirror of Herzog. How many Herzog movies will you stream to you Netflix Roku? Probably a lot.

I just saw Herzog's latest documentary called "Encounters at the End of the World" which was simply stunning to watch. It is a reminder for me to watch his other movies, as the only other one I've seen is "Grizzly Man." Thanks for bringing up "In The Company Of Men." I have had that on my shelf for 3 years, and I still haven't bothered to watch it. "Lonestar" is a great movie, and I still need to see more John Sayles movies.
