The Bible and Homosexuality

I take exception to the overly simplistic tone of K. Hall's article about God and Homosexuality. Are we to believe that God is so petty as to be personally offended by the actions of homosexuals in America, as if only America or American gays matter in the grand scheme of things? No, you don't just get to quote scriptures and then run away. We could quote scriptures until the cows come home, none of it mitigates societal hypocrisy, especially when it comes to matters involving religion - -particulary members of so-called 'Christian' religions. This is the huge pink elephant in the living room that nobody talks about. It is the reason we are so quick to criticize and condemn gays when all the rest of us are guilty of just about every other type of 'sin' mentioned in the Bible, inlcuding: lying, stealing, envy, greed, lust, materialism, pride, sexual immorality, prejudice, and hatred. But, isn't it ironic how that we always find ways to rationalize these behaviors, or even better, pretend that they don't even exist?  (How else did our 'Christian' forefathers found this great nation and its Contitution 'under God' but to conveniently murder the native indians and then haul slaves across the Atlantic to build on it?) We used to do this sort of thing based on the silly notions of cultural, racial, intellectual, and religious superiority. Now we use more sophisticated excuses to hate, judge, abuse, and kill other people - -and we get away with this because we do it under the pretext of upholding morality and 'for the common good'. But, what really is 'morality', and who should be the judge of what is  moral and what is not? Does the Bible have a point of view? Yes, it does!
