Our pets are precious to us in every way possible. If we didn’t have some affinity for animals or an inherent need for companionship, animals may never have been a part of our existence.

Sometimes our pets become an integral part of our families or they even become our very lives. What happens though if our beloved pet becomes injured? What if we take on the responsibility of a disabled pet? How do we move forward from there? How do we work to give our pet the most normal life possible?

Products and Services

You can search the Internet and find literally hundreds of links to various product lines designed for disabled cats, dogs and even rabbits!

For animals that have limited or no mobility of their hind legs, custom-made wheel chairs are available to give your pet the highest level of mobility possible. Pet stairs give your older or arthritic pet additional assistance in getting up on furniture when they cannot climb up themselves. Hind leg harnesses are also utilized for this purpose. The owner straps the harness onto their pet’s back legs and as the pet climbs the stairs on their own strength with their front legs, the owner can then assist them in getting their hind legs up the stairs.

Booties are available for pets who have problems with their feet, diapers are available for those pets who suffer from incontinence and splints for broken bones and torn ligaments.

Several placement services all over the U.S. provide loving homes to pets with disabilities. There are also several services that offer massage therapy, swim therapy and even holistic healing for your beloved companion.

It’s a matter of a four letter word…
