Me and cell phones go way back. Back to the time before digital when all cell networks were analog. Back to the days when a portable phone was the same size as an 11 D Nike sneaker. Every couple of years, I swap out phones and plans. So, I was fully prepared to be unimpressed with the Cingular 3125. Happily, I was wrong.

Of all the phones I've had I prefer the flip phones. One good thing about my hands is that they can span an octave on the piano. The bad thing about my hands is they're too dang big to grasp most average phones. Anything small enough to fit in my pocket is typically too tiny to fit comfortably in my hand. I’ve dropped two small phones and I’ve crushed buttons. And, speaking of which, what's with the buttons? Personally I can't punch one without punching three on most phones. The form factor of the Cingular 3125 when folded flat is a comfortable shirt pocket-size even when put into a protective case. It opens wide enough that when the earpiece is positioned near my tympanum the microphone is actually near my mouth and not my tragus (for you non-anatomists the tragus is that little flap on the outer ear you push closed to block your ear canal when hearing Gilbert Gottfried say anything).
