Very recently I tried Cascadian Farm Organic Oats & Honey Granola. I thought the overall taste was sweet, but not too sweet. Honestly in general the taste was not overwhelming in any such way, whether that be a sweet taste or a wholesome taste. Some times I find honey flavored granola cereals and other cereals to have a honey taste that is way too present but this wasn't the case with this granola. I have to admit that I had a concerned that I wouldn't care for this granola after thinking about the flavor but I was pleasantly surprised to find it rather good, but in general it wasn't my favorite taste either. Thankfully the box wouldn't be lasting too long and either way I wouldn't be eating the granola any more by the next week. By the time that I had finished the box I have to say that the granola's taste definitely grew on me more, making the later bowls even more enjoyable then the early ones. With somewhere around nine servings in the seventeen ounce box the box actually seemed to contain more than some of the other recent granola cereals that I have been eating. The serving size in addition is larger too, being two thirds of a cup instead of one half of a cup. I wondered what nutrition I would be receiving from this two thirds cup.
Cascadian Farm Organic Oats & Honey Granola offers two hundred and thirty calories with fifty calories from fat per serving. I thought that this seemed kind of high but granola cereals in general often have both high calories and high fat calories so I didn't worry about it. There is only one hundred and twenty milligrams of sodium in each serving as well as only two percent of your daily need of iron. In addition there are five grams of protein, three grams of fiber, thirteen grams of sugars and forty two grams of carbohydrates in every serving. The sugars content is as high as it is due mainly to raisins I am sure but I found the carbohydrate content wonderful, certainly a good way to start the day. I assumed that the ingredients of this granola would be just as wonderful.
