Desserts that Would Even Please Uncle Sam!

I'm the queen of lazy cooking so trust me when I say, "Easy" I mean "Easy". When I look at so-called, "Easy" recipes, I usually roll my eyes and close the page! So, you have come to the right place if you are looking for easy and none of these are very expensive to make, either!

Patriotic Dessert Pizza

Buy a ready-made cookie dough roll and make one huge pizza crust out of it on a round cookie sheet. Top it with any red, white and blue things you like, you can use cool whip or marshmallow fluff or red or blue jell-o for the pizza sauce and then pile on blueberries, strawberries, cherries, anything red, white or blue goes! Let the kids help!

Angel Easy

Buy an angel food cake. Slice it into 3 layers, slicing it so it is still round like a donut, only thinner, in three pieces. Now you can put some cherry pie filling in between each layer and a little on the top with some blueberries on top and a puff of cool whip with a cherry and a couple of blueberries sitting in the cool whip puff.

Jell-o Cake

Make a white cake mix. Divide it into two round cake pans and bake. When cool, poke holes in the cakes with a fork. Make red jell-o and pour half of it on one cake layer. Make blue jell-o and pour half of it on the other cake layer. You can use the other half of each to make the jell-o cups below if you are only making a few. Now after the cakes set you put them together with some marshmallow fluff, not a lot, just enough to make them hold together. Frost the cake with any white, light and fluffy frosting. You can mix in cool whip with the frosting to make it even lighter. You can decorate the top if you like, or, for a more subtle cake, leave it plain and let guests be surprised when you cut it open to reveal the patriotic colors. I think it would be nice to put some little flags all around on it.
