A Review of the Vietnam Restaurant in Houston, Texas
Vietnamese food is a cuisine that is seemingly easy to make, yet many restaurateurs can't seem to get it right; the Vietnam Restaurant in Houston, Texas is one such restaurant. We went on a Saturday afternoon for lunch, and the place was packed so we assumed it was

United States of America going to be good. Even their parking lot was full which meant we had to park on the street. Common sense dictates that a crowded restaurant equates to a loyal following or (through word-of-mouth) other customers are eager to try the popular establishment. But after dining at the Vietnam Restaurant in the Houston Heights, I have to scratch my head and wonder why it was so crowded.
We were able to get a seat quickly but noticed that our table was not clean - nor did anyone make any attempts to wipe it down. The place settings were put down so we can only assume that they thought they cleaned the table, but their cleanliness standards are obviously a tad below the norm. We were given time to peruse the menu and our wait staff was attentive - especially the person whose job it is to refill the glasses with water and iced tea - but that's about all that was decent with our experience. The first odd thing was that they have lunch specials yet do not offer them on Saturdays - the most popular day for them; but the peculiarities kept on coming.
My husband's glass was completely cracked yet they deemed it fit to serve to a customer. Of course he requested that it be replaced but that's a sign of a restaurant that doesn't maintain its dishware - and most likely everything else.
