Making a really good pizza sauce at home is a simple and easy task. It will be very easy for you to create your own family tradition from the basic example listed below.
Ingredients:
4 cans of salt free tomato sauce. Try and get a no name brand as they are the same quality as any brand name will be. Never pay for a name when you can be paying for more food when making a really good pizza sauce. Buy salt free because many of the other ingredients in pizza have more than enough salt in them. Store bought ingredients or pizzas contain entirely too much salt to be healthy. When making a recipe with a lot of ingredients you have to consider the over all salt content of the recipe rather than the salt content of each individual ingredient. If you plan to use this sauce as a dipping sauce you may want to add a tiny amount of salt to make up for the loss that would have been covered from other ingredients in the pizza. This is one way you can cut the salt consumption in your household and your family will never notice the difference.
3 tablespoons of olive oil.
3 large cloves or garlic. ( diced )
1 tablespoon of oregano, basil, onion powder, and hot pepper flakes.
