How to Make the Most of Single Check Rebates

Most people do not even realize that the places they shop even offer single check rebates. They buy there items and out the door they go. To check to see if your local major chain drug stores offer a rebate program you will need to go to the stores website
and look to see what programs are offered. In our area we have 3 major retail drug stores, CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreens. Each store has a rebate program but they run a little differently.

CVS offers Extra Care Bucks (ECB). Basically when you buy the products they offer these on the rebates will print out on your receipt to be used on your next trip. These can run anywhere from 1.00 up to 20.00. Pro's to ECB you receive the rebate checks (on printed receipt) at the time you placed your order the Con's are that they are only good to be used at CVS.

Rite Aid and Walgreens run there rebate program pretty closely. You buy items that offer the rebate, but then you can get online and enter your information from the receipts. These rebate checks will then be mailed to your home. Pro's to this type of rebate is that you can deposit the checks and spend your money how ever you like the Con's are that you have to wait for them to arrive.

Now onto what you really want to know how to make the most out of a single check rebate! A lot of the time when the store does this they give back the full price in a rebate it's a way to bring you into the store and also to try new products.

Example: Shampoo price 4.69, Rebate 4.69 Total out of pocket at store 4.69, Total out of pocket at the end of the month 0.00. Your item was just free!
