Never fear! A Middle Islander doesn't have to go into New York City to get into the holiday spirit. There are plenty of holiday events going on in Middle Island and very close to the town. Just pick up a Suffolk Life newspaper or even a PennySaver and find out the different activities that are available to you. Even better, take a good look at some upcoming events in this very article.
Visit the Longwood Public Library!
The Longwood Public Library, located at the corner of Route 25 and Route 21, has a wide variety of holiday events for all ages. Besides the excellent array of weekly events available to library patrons, there are some spectaculate holiday events taking place! On Tuesday, November 21, there is a Young Adult Program at 7:00 pm where attendees are able to decorate a Thanksgiving cake for their family's dinner table. Keeping with the same theme, there is an adult workshop on Wednesday, December 20, where attendees can create a chocolate holiday house. Of course, there are tons of programs for children and senior citizens. Most are free, or will have a very small fee. For more information, visit the Longwood Public Library website and click on the link to their events calendar.
