Why I Have Abandoned Writing for Certain Websites in Favor of Those that Share Revenue

I used to be a regular contributor on certain article directories like ezinearticles and goarticles. I am no longer writing for them. The reason is simply that they don't share adsense revenue with the writers which are the people who do the real work for them and make them successful. If I'm going to work hard writing articles I want to share in the monetization of all the traffic that it recieves. Don't get me wrong I enjoy writing but it is still hard work. In my opinion just being able to get a link or two at the end of the article isn't enough compensation. For that reason I have recently started writing for sites like xomba, associated content and hubpages. They all have generous revenue sharing programs and I believe they are the future of online publishing. The other content sites that refuse to share revenue with the people that make them money will be left behind in my opinion. I believe and actually hope that contributors will leave those sites en masse and start writing for great sites like this one and finally be rewarded for their work.

I've run into similar problems - even if we want to write for the freebie sites, we've all got stuff to do, and we, as writers, need to prioritize. When it comes down to it, money talks. Heck, I rarely even put anything on Hubpages, though I do love the format. The reason: I don't have the time, and they don't pay very well compared to AC. I've never heard of Xomba, but another good one is Helium.com Triond.com may also be viable; it's pretty new, but it's got potential. The pay is roughly comparble (pay per view, but only a few users so far), but there is a big drawback they have to overcome: they will NOT accept previously published content. Their loss...

I also feel that it is wrong not to pay writers that contribute to the success of a website. Some of them even put good articles on the back pages and save the headlines for their friends. Associated Content gives its writers the best deal that is possible.
