Worldwide Campaign Against Meat Eaters: It Worked Against Smokers!
Meat Eaters Wearing Smokers Shoes
Remember the campaign against smokers? It started quietly and grew to hysteria. From bans to added taxes, smokers were left to wonder what hit them. Tobacco was (and continues to be) a legal substance. Now, following the same pattern, a push has started against red meat. The Internet and blogger kingdom will play a huge role in this campaign. It's already underway and growing. Medical statistics and studies will be thrown about as truths, with no input of who paid for them or if they are biased in any fashion. They will be read and accepted as
Campaigns against red meat will hit the kids in school. They will come home and accuse their parents of poisoning not only their family, but the entire world. They will be taught that the cow that was last night's burger was a bigger polluter of the world than the SUV in the driveway. Remember the push for kids to condemn their smoking parents?
Let's not overlook the guilt factor. Smokers were made to feel like criminals. As though they had personally gone out and killed people with second hand smoke. Well, meat eaters will be hanging by the same guilt tree. They will be vilified as consuming something that causes them to get cancer and burden the medical and insurance establishments. They will also be tried in the court of global warming, global pollution and global hunger.
We see how the Internet can help condemn those who choose to eat meat. Is there anything that the Internet can do to help the meat lovers? Yes. Ordering meat on the Internet is a growing business. People will order from the Internet rather than walk through the aisles of the grocery where they can be branded as meat eaters. (See the correlation with smokers yet?)
All of this comes at a time when livestock owners are starting to send their breeding animals to slaughter. Why? The gas, grain and hay prices are just too high to hang on. Meat prices are reasonable now, but next year, the prices will soar due to supply and demand. What a wonderful time to really spring the evils of red meat on the public!
Have you seen Subway's new ad? Anti burger for sure.
