Who among us hasn’t tried to lose weight and have done it only to see it slowly pile back on with a vengeance? The secret of good weight loss, according to almost all of the conservative medical community, is to take off pounds slowly and consistently and to incorporate weight control and regular exercise into your life’s routine. We are told over and over again to walk briskly every few days, and to do weight training. These two things will take off weight very slowly but you should lose inches as well as pounds if you incorporate these activities into your daily lifestyle and stick to them. 

Many people go on a rampage of weight training in a frantic effort to take off some pounds for a special season or occasion. Then they often just relax and lapse back into a lifetime of sloppy eating and inertia that brought on those pounds, high blood pressure and other problems in the first place. 

I am happy to describe a new weight loss “gym” in Memphis that is not really technically new. It has been around now for about 14 years. But it is new in the sense that it is not a full scale gym and that it is really geared toward overweight women who are reluctant to exercise with all the young weekend warriors that inhabit some of the local gyms.
