First off, I'd like to state that I'm not a pitcher or anything, so just take it easy if parts aren't accurate, but this is just how I throw these pitches when I'm messin around.

The knuckleball

Well there are a few ways to throw a knuckleball so just pick this one and see if it works for you. It really helps if you have longer fingernails so that you can dig into the ball. Starting off, hold the ball just like you're going to throw a 4 seam fastball. If you don't know what THAT is, then its just a normal fastball with your two fingers going across the laces making a number sign. Hold the ball like that, then bend the tips of your fingers into the ball so you have your knuckles extended out from the ball. Now, how I do it, just separate your pinkie finger from the rest and put it down at the side of the ball like you would throwing a curve ball. Pretty much just get your pinkie on the side of the ball to stabilize it so it doesn't slip out of your hand. Now with your thumb, just put it in the same place you usually would when throwing, just make the "C" shape.

When you throw the ball, just throw it like you would a normal fastball. Don't hesitate and take anything off the pitch because then it wont move as much. (throw it hard is what I'm saying). As you release the ball flick the three fingers i told you to keep knuckled on the ball straight out. When you end your throw, your fingers should be fully extended and stiff. If you do this right, the ball wont spin and then it will move all over the place. The reason it moves is just simply because the air resistance hits the ball with no spin and moves it.

The Circle Change up

Did You Know?
Tom Candiotti a former major league pitcher for the Indians was famous for his knuckleball. I'm not sure if this is true, but supposedly, he got manicures all the time so he could throw better knuckles.

If I were accurate, I would put this to good use. I can't find the strike zone to save my life, unless I throw at a low speed.

Excellent tutorial! I always loved a good knuckler; one that has NO spin. I have never possessed that kind of talent, and very few pitchers do!

Isn't Wakefield about the only guy left who features a knucleball?
