Yes, there really are gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender folks in Nebraska!June is GLBT Pride month, and we will be celebrating in Omaha, Nebraska with style. On Friday and Saturday, June 20-21, 2008, you can join us for "Pride Has No Borders" at Lewis and Clark Landing (515 North Riverfront Drive) in Omaha.
Nebraska Pride events are coming together nicely, but volunteers and funds are still needed. Some volunteer positions still open include, but are not limited to the following: Security setup/takedown, back stage, Information Table, Ticketing, and Gates. If you are willing to volunteer and help make this years Pride the best ever, be sure to fill out an application at the Nebraska Pride Web site.
Let your hair down or take your hat off for a Night of Pride! On Friday night (June 20th) from 6-11pm join us at Lewis and Clark Landing for a night of music, entertainment, food and drink while we celebrate 22 years of magnificent accomplishments! For a small admission fee of $5, you can enjoy the festivities and wear your alcohol wristband. You will need the wristband to enjoy this year's bigger and better Bud Light Pride Beer Garden!
This year, as always, many of you are looking forward to the Pride Parade. The parade will be held on Saturday June 21st at 11:00am. If it rains, bring your umbrella! New this year is an entry fee of $10. for parade floats. This is because of the new City of Omaha Festival/Parade Policy. Judging and awards will take place before the parade begins.
The Pride Festival takes place on Saturday (June 21st) afternoon from noon to 11pm. Many vendors have signed up to join us and the stage entertainment will be superb! I believe there is still room for more vendors, so if you wish to join us be sure to visit the Nebraska Pride Web site to find out the details and sign up.
