Once again, which should really surprise no one, liberalism is wrong. I will present 3 distinct situations where the facts bely the liberal talking points of late.

As we have recently heard in media, the Earth seems to be experiencing some sort of completely unexpected and unexplainable cooling. How can that be? All I have heard since Republicans have held the White House since 2001 is that the Earth has a fever, or so says brain trust Algore. But Algore is not alone in his dumbfoundedness - no, he has millions of Liberals on his bandwagon.

Here is the truth, despite what the brilliant ones maintain: The warmest year on record for our planet was 1998. The previous hottest year of the Twentieth Century was 1934. Seems since '98 the Earth has been cooling. And now we hear the Earth is in for a 10 or 15 year cooling; of course the global warming will begin again at the end of that time, so they claim. Say what, you ask? Yep friends, they were either wrong or untruthful - you pick whichever one suits ya.

The second glaring recent example of Liberal "mouth in gear while brain is in park" is the quandary of the National Intelligence Estimate (NIE), the Iranian nuclear intentions and the recent UN nuclear watchdog team, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Remember this one? Last year the US NIE said Iran had stopped atomic enrichment. The Libs went apoplectic claiming Bush was tweaking the intel to fear monger and gin up support for him to bomb Iran. Then last month or so the IAEA, the UN agency, the darling of the Left and every petty dictator and despot on this rock said, "Yo, yo, Iran is lying - they ARE enriching atomic fuels for bombs!" So, after the leftmost ran Bush into the ground out comes the UN to say Iran is doing exactly what Bush claimed. Are we hearing any apologies from the wrong yet? Fat chance that!

And then there is my all time favorite - the Evil Oil Companies (EOC). You know the talking points: big oil is making record profits; big oil is price fixing; big oil is ripping off the little guy, blah, blah, blah.

Takeaways
  • Oil companies pay more taxes than the combined taxes of more than 75% of US taxpayers.
  • The most recent IAEA report completely debunks last years NIE about Iranian nuclear capabilities.
  • According to climatologists the Earth is going to cool for at least the next 10 to 15 years.

You're dead on Slash. Liberalism in the US is the concerted effort, through judicial mandates, to alter the letter of the Constitution and circumvent the will of the people. Just last week a poll said 67% of Americans are against gay marriage, yet there's liberal California clearly thumbing it's nose at the will of the people. For example, if the majority of Americans say "we need to leave Iraq," the Left will point to the poll and scream "see, the majority says leave Iraq." But, when the majority do not favor something the Libs want, they say "It's just theocratic Red Stater's who are hating gays, etc." The Left wants THEIR morals to become the laws of the land, yet scream "Don't make YOUR morals our laws," when it comes to Conservatism. Don't ya just love it?

I second that Bluto. china especially is building them, one every 3 months if I recall correctly. If I may be so bold as to ponder. Why does the left come down on pollution from the US and give china, india and korea a free pass. The nations that signed the kyoto treaty are now being heavily fined for not meeting pollution output limits as defined by the treaty. My guess is china and india are saying.....kiss my ass and don't hold your breath waiting for us to pay up.

Check your facts Zach - Germany and Europe in general are building COAL PLANTS!!!! Check it out for yourself, and stop just buying the Lib. talking points. Try factcheck.org, etc, and stay away from DailyKos & Moveon for your info. And truthout.org is no better, so trash that as a favorite, unless of course you prefer news presented with an agenda.

"And in so doing they are building power plants (shame, shame)" erm. . . SOLAR power plants... .. Germany took 6 years to go solar. American politicians think that it'll tank our economy. Like spending billions on R/D and deployment of solar panels, and then GETTING billions in revenues from people is going to be a bad thing? "Building power plants" and "building nuclear power" or "earth and aquifer destroying coal plants" is something quite different. (Coal plants may burn cleaner, but the technology to safely strip-mine is not in place to preserve the groundwater during operation).

Oil is a supply and demand matter Jim, we concur that no one is being ripped off.

Bluto, once again the nail is driven true to its course. Global warming is now called climate change, that way any abberation in weather patterns can be attributed to man made. As I have always stated in the past, liberals never appologize, they just move on to another subject like a spreading cancer. Our dependence on foreign oil can also be blamed on liberalism. Just look at who fights against drilling here locally. The sierra club, elf, aclu and other tree huggers including the d-rats. Every new energy bill that has been offered by Bush has been blocked. That's ok leftists, now china/cuba will tap our oil in our gulf 60+ miles from miami. Also, as Europe and Asia's economies are growing by leaps and bounds the demand for oil will aslo grow by leaps and bounds, we only represent 12% of the world's oil consumption. I am in favor of alternative energy, but until then we need to drill here, drill now and pay less. So in closing, I would like to add, that "progressives" arent.

That Iran is doing atomic enrichment issent such a surprise to me.but youre right no appologies(and there are not going to give it either) Here was a deal here that a nuclear plant wil shutdown at 2009,now the see it aint working without these plants so it stays open.Global warming and global cooling seems to me it will keep it in balance like this. The cooling part is better for me,because I live in the Netherlands and about half of it is below sealevel and i'm in the lowest piece of it.Keep writing Jim
