Many Americans have had the experience of dealing with second-hand smoke at restaurants and other public places. Other that the obvious problems of having to deal with the smoke and walking out smelling like an ashtray, second-hand smoke is dangerous to the health of others in the public place. Smoking should be banned in all public places because of the harmful effects of second-hand smoke on the bodies of the other people with the public place.

No. Your a freaking idiot. Ok first of all bad eating habits do not harm other American citizens. On the other hand, second-hand smoke does. Smoker should only be alowed to smoke in theyre homes which will stop smoking bans from becoing the new era of prohibition. Your an idiot.

I've got a better idea... All such public places should install a ventillation system... then we could all be happy! I used to work at a place that had a completly seperate, closed off glass room just for smokers. It was great! And by the way, studies show that 2nd hand smoke isn't that bad- it's PROLONGED exposure to 2nd hand smoke that can cause health problems. To really be at risk, you'd have to constantly inhale 2nd hand smoke over a number of years.
