I am an absolute fan of Will Smith. HE has soul, focus, charisma and he lets it all hang out on the screen.

I will see any movie he acts in but I won't automatically like the movie; even John Wayne made a few duds.

I waited anxiously for this movie to be available at the library. I watched ever second of it. Its focus in the first
few minutes on the stampedes of antelope or tigers offered no contribution to the movie and harmed it at the
outset.

Having all the cars sitting where they were made no sense. The future can look any way the art director and
director wish, but if it is JUST there, it will confuse. The idea was to find serum to cure a single disease for
what mankind was to become, if I understood the movie. The US government on purpose or accidentally
made some spray with consequences worse than Vietnam's Agent Orange. When CGI created diseased
people hid in dark buildings, there was no connection as to why they attacked the doctor. Had they become
animals seeking any meat they could find?

Other associative presumptions were a bit far-fetched. Our star/hero presumed that with the loss of his family
in the helicopter attack, that all people had died. Or that his soul died with them--it was hard to figure.

Maybe he knew that there were others alive out there but did not know where they were. Illogical. Rarely are
people saved who hide alone; they hide in groups--to have some social interaction, seek protection, share food, etc.

At one time the US military knew he was alive and where he was. What was not discussed was who had attacked
him and the others. What was the cause of the war[s]? OR was it a no one cares who lives cause the easterners
of Asia Minor just wanted to show they had power to kill everyone--or was it an experiment gone wrong?

People have had air raid shelters for decades. Why were they not full of people?

What was Washington doing to help everyone?

There were just too many what happened and where is everyone questions.

Did You Know?
CGI is not a substitute for logic. I am Legend has no or little logic behind it.

I would like to, thanks. Will Smith is a gem but with a huge number of presumptions in his movie, I got lost. If his canned food runs out--what does he eat? Maybe he shoots the cgi animals? Where are they coming from? Down from the mountains 150 miles away? Why are all the cars left on the streets? Where are all the bodies? Their bones? where does he get fresh water from? etc. I am guessing he went from the east to SF; if so, why no follow-up? I am guessing the movie presumes the last man on earth; but if so, to whom would he become a legend? do you have any answers for this, from this movie's perspective?

The book version is phenomenal, and the previous two movie versions are both worth watching, especially the Vincent Price one if you can locate it).
