Watercolor paint offers a great deal of fun for kids, but scented watercolor paint is even more fun. Did you know you can make scented water color paint? Homemade scented watercolor paint smells fantastic, the color is vivid, and the scent lingers even after it is dry. It can be used to create unique scratch-and-sniff pictures for all types of fun craft projects. Kids can paint bowls of scented fruit, candy murals, and they can even make raspberry scented skies and strawberry scented angels if they choose. The options are only limited by their imaginations! Precautionary Statement
This homemade scented watercolor paint for kids will stain clothing and some hard surfaces. Have kids wear protective paint shirts and cover work surfaces before using. Homemade scented watercolor paint for kids is nontoxic, but since it smells like candy it should only be used by kids old enough to understand that it should not be tasted. Kids should be supervised by an adult when using this or any other paint or craft supplies.
Necessary Supplies
To make cherry-scented watercolor paint for kids you will need two tablespoons of unsweetened cherry drink mix and two tablespoons of water. You will also require a container for storing the finished product. Mini muffin tins are an excellent choice, especially if you plan to make an entire set of these homemade scented watercolor paints for kids.
Procedure
This homemade scented paint is by far one of the easiest homemade watercolor paints you can make. All you have to do is combine the drink mix with the proper amount of water to make a single scent and color. You can make anything from fruit-scented paint made with clear drink mix that can be used to make scratch-and-sniff clouds to blue raspberry scented paint for a vast sweet-scented ocean. If a color and scent of drink mix exists, you can turn it into homemade watercolor paint for your kids. You can even mix colors and scents to come up with something completely new and different.
