Was Bill Clinton the Nail in the Coffin of Hillary's Campaign? Can She Be Obama's Vice President?

Hillary Clinton gave a speech on June 7, 2008, telling America she is "suspending" her campaign...she didn't concede. At no time did she say she was giving it up totally, just "suspending" it. Click here for the story. Although she asked her followers to vote for Barack Obama, she looked down every time she said it. You could tell she did not really believe what she was saying. But, by suspending her campaign and not ending it, she still retains some control of her delegates and could continue to raise money to pay off campaign debts, of which she has a reported $30 million.

I can understand Clinton's disappointment in not being the Democratic Party's nominee, which she so badly wanted. But that's politics! There are winners and there are losers, and Obama won fairly and gallantly. In Clinton's speech, instead of focusing on Obama's accomplishments and congratulating him for them, she used the speech as a "look what I have done and how far I have come" platform. She went on and on about herself and HER accomplishments...and hardly gave Obama the time of day. In fact, every time she would say "that is why we need to vote for Barack Obama," she would say it in a mocking sort of way, and raise the tone of her voice to make it sound sarcastic, rather than something she was truly asking her supporters to do. If had been the other way around, Obama would have sincerely congratulated her, and asked his followers to support her, and he would not have been bitter about it.
