Still wondering if you, as a football fan, should fork over the $99 required to buy a Roku in order to watch Netflix instant viewing choices on your television? The answer to this question is as easy as the answer to the question "Does Bill Belichick have to cheat in order to win." Yes, you as a football fan can find instant viewing choices on Netflix that will make the Roku purchase worth the price. E-A-G-L-E-S: The Movie.
The Philadelphia Eagles are the Rodney Dangerfield of the NFL. Every decade they appear to be poised on the precipice of leaving their nest to share in the glory of a Super Bowl victors poster, but they always seem to fall short. Those Eagles, they don't get no respect. And yet their fans remain among the most loyal in the league. (Just see how many people start attending Patriots games when Bill Belichick is no longer allowed by the NFL Commission to cheat.) This film is an orgy of desire for Philadelphia Eagles fans and meets the necessary requirements of football fans wondering if they should get a Netflix Roku to enjoy instant viewing from their couch.
Jerry Maguire.
Okay, admittedly, Jerry Maguire is not necessarily a football movie, per se, but chicks dig Tom Cruise, or so I have been led to understand. I may have been misinformed; I think I was. This is Cruise's best film and his best performance and a nice little flick to dial up on the Roku during the off-season when you want to spend time with your best gal while also enjoying a bit of footballing fun.
Brian's Song.
The best football movie ever made. A tragic and sad tale that you maybe should not watch with your best girl if you are that pathetic type who thinks that crying over a movie is somehow emasculating. Trust me; if you are afraid to cry you've already been emasculated in a far worse way. Netflix instant viewing contains many tearjerkers, but none as are emotionally devastating at this one. So keep your hand on the Roku remote and be prepared to dial up an episode of Coach if your girlfriend enters during Brian Piccolo's death scene.
