Brevard County Legalities for Good Ol' Boys

Let me say I have been in a lot of good ol' boy towns, but I never imagined in such a diversified state we are still playing favorites. I am not a lawyer. As a friend likes to say, I don't play one on television either or I wouldn't be here. Let me explain what happened.

Today I had the distinct pleasure of going to the Brevard County, Florida, Courthouse for a pre-trial for debt. All I know is I have one heck of a head ache and will probably never be hired to handle money or do accounting again. This only has one up side. I can sit on my back side and

not do a darn thing for the rest of my life. For the down side, I will never be able to earn enough money to pay for a house, maybe not even enough for a rental, I won't be giving much of a life to my children. All I can give them is the hope that someday they either go to college and get mediocre paying jobs or they win the lottery, in order to support themselves.

Right now I am so sad, hurt and mad at myself. If I wouldn't have left my job six years ago to be a stay at home mom maybe we would be able to put a roof over our heads. If my husband didn't lose his job last year and now stay in another state until we can get enough money together to move maybe we'd have money.

I went in to court for a small credit card debt, approximately $1200. The company that placed the lawsuit didn't put a signed contract with the paperwork. This is reason to ask for dismissal although the judge can still say no and go ahead to trial. I'm not even sure I am on the credit card but I did admit we did use the credit card to purchase something. We fell into a really bad spot because of the economy and needless to say we can't get out. We don't even have the money to file bankruptcy if that tells you anything. So the judge decided to put the judgment on us once he receives paperwork of whose credit it is to go against.

The judgment is also open ended. The judge didn't set a time frame on when the credit card company has to give this information. I have been screwed over so much in the past year I am starting to get used to it. The laws don't even apply to me unless it is in a negative way.
