Ten Things to Do When You're Bored

Bored, bored, bored. What to do when you’re bored? Well, if you’re reading this article I guess you don’t know, so why am I asking you? Well I’ll tell you why. I want you to think about it for a while, that’s why. So go on, I’ll wait…are you still thinking.

Ok, that’s good; I’ll let you off the hook now. The purpose of that little exercise was to prove a point. You thought about being bored and then you weren’t so bored anymore. Maybe you even came up with something. That’s all you got to do to keep the boredom away, anything to get your mind off of actually being bored and on to something else. Now if you did come up with something to do to keep from being so bored, then I advise you to go do it before you come back to finish reading my article about boredom. That way when you get back you’ll be less bored and you won’t forget what it was.

Anyway, here you go. I’ve made a list of ten things that I like to do to keep my mind off the boredom. Some are pretty run of the mill but I assure you that they work. Read them quickly first then come back and study them in more detail. When the mood strikes try one. If the mood doesn’t strike, try the first one and move down the list. Because if the mood doesn’t strike you then you’re in more trouble than I thought. You’re really bored and that is the worst kind of all. But I digress; here they are in no particular order.

Ten Things to Do When You’re Bored

1. Make up new video game scenarios and write them down. Then, use your old action figures or Barbie dolls to act them out.

2. Come up with a new commercial beauty product. Use sock puppets to act out a commercial for the new product. 

3. Find a nice block of wood and learn to throw knives and make them stick in the wood, use some old kitchen knives. That could come in handy if you are ever attacked in your kitchen. 

4. Learn to roll a quarter across your knuckles. It is easiest, if you start with a larger coin such as a 50-cent piece. This will ease your boredom and is sure to impress at your next social function.
