Will People Come to Both of Your Parties?

A lot of people think that the idea of having an engagement party is quite ridiculous because they are expected to give you a gift for your engagement party, your bridal shower and your wedding. Add in a pre-engagement party and some of your guests may really think that you are just out for the presents. What this also means is you may see a much smaller turnout than you could be hoping for and it may be a huge disappointment. Before you decide to have a pre-engagement party, this is probably the most important thing that you will want to take into consideration.

Will You Invite Close or Extended Family?

How many people are you actually planning to invite to your pre-engagement party? Are you going to invite your extended family members, including great aunts and second or third cousins? Or are you just planning to keep your pre-engagement party small and simple. The latter is probably the better option for most couples, unless you are very close with your extended family. You should also consider whether your pre-engagement party will be kept small and simple or large and extravagant.
