I loved this party game when I was a kid, and all the kids I've talked to have never heard of it, so I wanted to make sure it lives on. Hopefully some people will read it here and use if for their next child's party.Divide the children into two teams. Basically, what you're going to have them do is run a relay race. They will run to a designated spot, eat a saltine cracker (it can be any kind of cracker, but an old fashioned saltine works best - trust me) and then they must WHISTLE before they are allowed to run back to their team where the next member of the team waits his or her turn to run. The first team to finish wins.
An adult must, of course, stand down by the crackers and make sure that the children actually whistle. No cheating!
You don't want to make the children run too far because you want everyone to be able to see their friends struggle with this task. It is quite funny, and rather messy, with cracker crumbs blowing out of their mouths but no sound. You will want to do this outside because of the mess.
This game can be played with children as young as six and with kids as old as eighty. It really is that fun! All you have to be is young at heart.

Did You Know?
Try eating a cracker and then whistling. Not so easy, eh? Now imagine a group of people taking turns doing it with each one trying to do it in a hurry!
