Most pet owners take the time to housebreak their pets, but on occasion it is necessary to use an alternative method of keeping your dog or puppy from going to the bathroom in the house. This is where pet diapers are very useful. Reasons for using diapers could include extended absences from the home in which you do not no want to crate the animal, an older pet who is becoming incontinent, training puppies, or even for a female dog that has gone into heat. Some people even use the smaller sized diapers on their cats, but that's an article for another time.

One of the hardest parts of housebreaking a puppy is keeping them from soiling on the floor and returning to the same spot over and over again. Diapers for puppies prevent them from repeatedly spoiling an area. The same goes for an older dog that is no longer able to control their bodily functions. Once again, you may not wish to crate an older dog who does not understand why they are suddenly being locked up after years of freedom. By using diapers for dogs, you are allowing them to remain free in the house without the hassle of having to clean up after them.

Diapers of dogs and diapers for puppies - the size the difference between the two - are also very handy for animals that have recently been operated on. Depending on the surgery performed will determine the time frame in which they must heal before resuming regular activities, like going for walks or even outside to go to the bathroom. Diapers provide both of you a means to allowing the dog or puppy the chance to heal properly and not be pressured into going to the bathroom when they don't want to move. And pet diapers are also good for female dogs that are in heat, acting in a similar fashion as a human sanitary napkin.
