A jet ski trailer is the most advisable way of hauling your jet skis, either to the water or from the water. If you happen to own a personal watercraft, you will not want to be without a jet ski trailer. They are convenient and a huge time-saver. Can you imagine the headache you would encounter if yours was ever stolen? The anticipation of a day on the water with your jet skis and all of the fun you will be having often leads to people forgetting to take the necessary precautions to prevent their jet ski trailer from being stolen. Here are some simple and easy to implement tips you can follow to make sure this does not happen to you, whether you are storing it at home or when you have it parked while you are out riding the water.
The first thing you want to do when you have your jet ski trailer parked is to make sure you have it tied down. This applies to when you have it parked at home or when it is parked at the water. Use a large, strong chain and secure the trailer to something that someone could not easily move or manipulate to get the chain removed. This is a common sense step but it is amazing how many people do not take the time to do this.
If you are on vacation and will be keeping your jet skis and trailer with you at the hotel then you want to stay at a hotel that has good security, including overnight security. You can usually park your jet ski trailer in the parking lot of the hotel where you are staying so choose a location where you can also tie it down.
When you have the jet ski trailer at home the best place to store it would be in your garage if you have the space. If you need to store it outside then you should consider a location in your backyard and again tie it down to something secure and consider installing motion-activated flood lights if you can.
