Light bulb energy waning with each flicker
Burning away the love out of the room
Carnal accessories melting away
Like a candle running out of wick
Potpourri without the innocence of jasmine
And the insanity of rush hour traffic
Taxis honking and cab drivers flipping fingers
Giving random bugs the bird whenever they block traffic
Worms flattened on the flame hot pavement
Nature's flapjacks on the grill without being turned over
Roasted on one side and toasted on the other
Melancholy bug spray weakly coating irritants
Like flies and gigantic bumble bees
Angrily swatting at vanishing air and patience
Developing a diet of buttered $100 bills
With a seasoning of salt and Cayenne pepper
Dessert is magic marked white construction paper
Staring at a distant lover passing by as a rudderless ship
The Titanic just before it was sunk by the iceberg
Turning into mechanical mush of broken and dead parts
Playing Private Investigator to find long buried heart
Return it to its rightful owner with hopes of cash reward
A permanent place up in the clouds sunbathing next to God
Maybe bringing some sexy back perfume into the stratosphere
Let's hope something comes of this because northing's free
Not even a person's martyred or sainted soul
Everything comes with a price tag
All anyone would need to buy it is either cash or a credit card
Pay up at the register and remember northing's refundable
Get what was paid off and leave the premises immediately
Or be shot on sight
Bang, bang.
