The upcoming fall and winter months bring many weekends of harvest and holiday events and festivals, and Thanksgiving is no exception. A number of events with a focus on Thanksgiving 2006 are going to be taking place in various locations across Long Island, New York.

One of the more popular attractions will be held in Old Bethpage on Saturday, November 18th, and Sunday, November 19th, and again on the 24th-26th of the month. The Old Bethpage Village Restoration will be hosting a traditional Thanksgiving Celebration from 10am to 4pm on each of the above dates.

Festivities will include live bands performing historical and traditional music from the 1800s as Old Bethpage Village Restoration is transformed from the modern day into a historical atmosphere of holiday celebration. You'll see a demonstration of traditional Thanksgiving dinner preparations as they would have been performed in the 1800s using old-fashioned wood burning stoves and open hearths. Children's stories and other fun activities for young ones will also be plentiful. There will be a small admission fee for this event. Be sure to visit http://www.oldbethpage.org/ for more information.

The Trinity Regional School in East Northport, NY will be holding a Holiday Crafts Fair, featuring a multitude of Thanksgiving, Christmas and Hanukkah decorations and gift items. Other vendors will be selling a variety of items perfect for the gift-giving season, including jewelry, Irish giftware, sports memorabilia, and more. Refreshments will be available and music will entertain you as you shop. The Thanksgiving 2006 Holiday Crafts Fair will take place on November 11th from 10am-4pm.

Widows and widowers are invited to spend a Thanksgiving celebration on November 20th at St. Joseph's Church in Babylon, NY. This Thanksgiving Social for widows and widowers 55 and over has an admission price of $5. The event begins at 7:30 pm. Feel free to call 631-862-1243 for more information.
