PostSecret: Some Secrets Are Best Left Unsaid
Embed:
Every Sunday morning I leap out of bed, careen downstairs to the computer, and settle in the cozy wooden chair for my beautiful four minute ritual of mental invasion. Actually, I don't get quite that excited about reading secrets, but I bet some people do. PostSecret has become one of the most popular blogs on the Internet and has spawned countless spin-off versions on blogging sites such as LiveJournal. It was originally created as a community art project in 2004 by Frank Warren but quickly grew into a worldwide movement. Warren casually asked random people to send him anonymous home-made postcards revealing a secret they had never before shared. His mailbox was soon overflowing with thousands of postcards. He now posts around 20 postcards on his website, PostSecret.com, every Sunday. One of the most popular offshoots, the LiveJournal community LJSecret, is updated with anywhere between 60 and 100 "picture secrets" every weekday and entertains an astounding 19,000 plus "watchers."
