Summer is here, and it's time to relax, unwind, and have some fun in the sun. However, when it is 90 degrees in the shade, adequate sunblock should be worn. Don't believe that you cannot become sunburned even if you are only outside for a few hours. Never underestimate the sun's beaming rays, for they can have an adverse effect on the skin, especially if it is extremely sensitive.

I have personally experienced being sunburned twice in Florida once in Daytona Beach and another time in Miami on South Beach. I didn't have any sunblock on and I should have known better especially since I have highly sensitive skin that breaks out and discolors very easily. I experienced the worst sunburns on my face with a combination of overcooked skin, peeling and the perplexed demeanor of people after seeing my sunburn. I could not deny or cover it up with makeup without further irritating it or having an unpleasantly painful experience while trying to wash or casually touch it. My sunburns eventually healed with my using a little Palmer's cocoa butter Formula with Vitamin E to clear up the dark spots to soften and smooth out my skin but I also had to stay out of the sun for awhile. I had to make putting on sunblock as a part of my daily regime so I decided to check out a few brands to figure out what works best for my combination of dry, oily and sensitive skin. Overall, I now don't leave home without sunblock and my favorite line of products of that nature is Banana Boat.

Did You Know?
I recently purchased these two products in a bonus package at Target for $8.99. It was a great deal.

Great article- I wondered about the spray on sunblock. I have sensitive skin so I will try the Banana Boat Sun Wear Faces Oil Free Sunblock Lotion!

I am so glad that I read your product review (I don't read many). I am very fair-skinned and sensitive, and I have been looking for a good sunblock that will be kind to my skin...thanks.

Fabulous review... good information and well written. I have always told my girls (now 20 and 23) the two most important things to start doing while young are 1. use sunblock and 2. save money. We all know the benefits of compound interest, but protecting your skin pays dividends as well. Sunscreen now = no Botox later. Again, good job, A.M., and great timing!
