Happy Fathers Day- No Thanks to Lost's Bad Dads
This Fathers Day, we look back and pay homage to the head male influence in our lives. For myself, I have no problem giving thanks to my dad on Fathers Day- for others, it may be a different story. But even if you have less than friendly feelings for your father and have no reason to do anything for Fathers Day, it could be worse. You could be one of the survivors on Lost. Of course being them could be worse for a variety of reasons- aside from starring on a hit show- but being them on Fathers Day is something you wouldn't wish on anyone. Maybe the Lost rotten fathers can make yours look better and give you a new cause to celebrate Fathers Day.
You should certainly be glad you're not Lost hero Jack Shepherd on Father's Day. For all his life saving and leadership, his father Christian Shepherd was always a heart breaking thorn in his side- even after he died. Jack and Christian battled up until Jack ended his father's career by reporting he was drunk during a surgery, which led him to go to Australia and meet his end. Thanks to Christian's death, Jack had to get on flight 815 to bring him back home, and we all know how that went. Even when dead, Christian kept causing trouble, as he's been helping the invisible island lord Jacob and appearing to Jack even after he got home. That made Jack get addicted to pills and grow that infamous beard- not even your father can be that cruel after death.
For women who remember bad fathers on Fathers Day, you have nothing on Claire Littleton either, who also had the misfortune of having Christian for a dad. They only met once while Christian was alive, but it didn't go well. Yet it didn't stop "dead" Christian from separating Claire from her baby Aaron in the jungle. But Claire didn't seem too broken up about it- she even showed up off island to warn Kate not to bring Aaron back. Either dead Christian did a number on her, or he was the harbinger of some really bad news. Certainly your dad can't be that dramatic.
