When it comes to that one very special day of your life you want everything you choose or do to be as perfect as it can possibly be. One of the most important parts of your wedding is choosing that one special place to share your special day will all your loved ones, but also to make sure the reception hall you choose lives up to it's expectations. You want to make sure th quality of the food, decorations, location, accommodations, and the price you will be paying will be the right choice for you and your guests, especially with the way prices now a days are. Always remember never judge a place by the way it looks. It may look like a million dollars, but what you get you may be surprised. Here are my reasons why you would like Berkeley Plaza:

1.This Berkeley Plaza is absolutely stunning. It will make you feel like a princess when you arrive to this place. It can accommodate up to 350 guests if needed.

2. Has 2 very elegant ballroom/dance floors, which feature a breathtaking spiral staircase and a very beautiful chandelier in each room.

3. The Berkeley Plaza does have separate cocktail hour rooms and also separate bridal suites. This way the bride can have her privacy before starting the wedding or reception.

4. This reception hall also features a very beautiful gazebo outside surrounded by a very magical looking garden, which will make all your outside wedding photos simply breathtaking.

5. A very wide selection of foods to choose from, which may be anywhere from clam casino, duck spring rolls, crab cakes, miniature beef Wellington, bruchetta, stuffed mushrooms and many more appetizers like this. Then you have your hot chafing dishes, which may be chicken marsala, cavatelli & broccoli, fillet mignon tips, sausage & peppers, clams, rice and plenty more. Now we move on to the main entree, which may be herb roasted chicken, chicken Francaise, chicken Parmesan, prime rib, Chateaubriand bordelaise, fresh broiled fillet sole oreganata, or fillet Mignon.

Now this all sounds pretty good so far huh? Well now I will give you the reasons why you may not want to have your wedding at the Berkeley Plaza:

We visited Berkeley Plaza and were quoted $90/pp + 15% gratuity + 7% sales tax for a Saturday night in September (peak season) which comes to about $111 per plate. I don't understand how you paid so much!

good review! Maybe I'm just a midwestern girl but I can't even imagine having spent that much per plate. I read somewhere about low budget weddings for $20,000 to $30,000 and my eyes about popped out of my head. I've never met anyone who spent that much!

Good review. My son was married in my flower garden set up with a white plastic aisle runway and metal chairs on either side. The grandkids strung flower petals everywhere, then we ate BBQ buffet. Folks said it was quite elegant! PS: All of the men including the pastor wore a Grateful Dead T shirt and the girls, including me wore long denim skirts and barefeet! hardly cost a thing and the pictures are gorgeous!

I'd rather have my guests happy and not go there. Thanks for the review.

I've found that higher priced places aren't always better. I have an aunt who turned her nose up at my sister's wedding reception at the Legion. It was catered. Anyway, her kids all had big receptions at high-end places, and I was never impressed. I'm sure they paid a small fortune for chicken breasts in gravy. Anyway, I thought the food at my sister's reception was fantastic - even though it was less than $10 a plate. I made sure to let my aunt know that I thought the food was great, and it was far better than more expensive receptions I had been to. People are paying for the name. They can say they had their reception at this high-end wonderful place. In the end, the person who had their party at the Legion is just as married as the next, and the food and service was probably better! Nice review. I would never want to have a reception at a place like that. I'd prefer the bride and groom keep their money and have something less extravagent. The food would probably be better at KFC!
