How to Keep Chipmunks and Squirrels Out of Your Bird Feeders

Every summer when I lived out in the woods in my cape house, I would place a bird feeder outside to watch all the amazing wild birds eat, fly, and just sit peacefully whistling. I enjoyed watching wild birds very much, but I had a little problem. My little problem was I couldn't keep the squirrels and chipmunks out of my bird feeders. I wasn't sure how to keep them out and wanted to badly. I began doing some research to find out some different ways to keep squirrels and chipmunks away, and when I used the information I found surprisingly the ideas works.

One of the best ideas to use to keep squirrels and chipmunks out of your bird feeders is to use hot spices mixed in with your birdseed. When the chipmunks and squirrels go to take and eat some seeds out of your bird feeder they will get a mouth full of hot spices and not like it and remember not to eat out of your bird feeder again. If your worried about harming the squirrels and chipmunks by doing this don't because it wont. If you are worried the hot spices will keep your birds away and may even harm them don't because birds do not have any taste buds and can not taste the hot spices at all.

The second best way to keep squirrels and chipmunks out of your bird feeders is to make a squirrel and chipmunk feeder specifically for squirrels and chipmunks and place the feeders one hundred feet away from where you're putting your bird feeders. By giving the squirrels and chipmunks their own feeder and placing hot spices in your bird feeder it will teach the squirrels and chipmunks what feeders are theirs and what ones aren't, and it will keep the squirrels and chipmunks at a far distance and away from your bird houses.
