Why Facebook is Better Than Myspace

A Comparison Between Two Sites that Can't Get Me a Date

Social networking sites are all the rage. Why? Because people don't really like dealing with eachother unless it's in text and pictures. Two of the biggest social networking sites are Myspace and Facebook, and I've had accounts on each because, well, I'm scared of actual human contact. However, I've got a definite preference for Facebook over Myspace, and here are some of the common sense reasons why.

1. Facebook is less emo than Myspace.
If I want to read about some teenager's angst in leetspeak, I'll read livejournal. I'll never do that, though, because Facebook isn't designed around the profile like Myspace is. You can't put crappy Fallout Boy songs on your page so that they start blaring as soon as it loads, you can't put videos of AFI regretting their own existence almost as much as I regret their existence, you can't do anything except maybe put “Catcher in the Rye” as your favorite book. And if you do try to emo-out on Facebook, your friends will rag on you for it on your wall. Which is the way it should be, Myspace.

2. Facebook has no “Top Friends” list, which Myspace has.
Hey, I've got enough drama in my life without ranking my friends in order of their importance and watching the fallout when they argue over placement. The alternative is even worse—suppose I take a lot of time to rank my friends and none of them care? How am I supposed to feel about that? Facebook doesn't try to make me judge people the way Myspace does; I'm free to do that privately.

myspace without a doubt is better...the various layouts, the music the photos. I am on both but signing up for facebook is a bore and the site is too. People just go to the newest internet craze. But I find it totally unpleasant to the eyes and a BORE.

"A Comparison Between Two Sites that Can't Get Me a Date" Wow first of all, if none of this simple methods of communication can help you get laid.. that's just sad. I completely agree with the comment under this. Facebook is the knockoff, wannabe, copycat, etc. Myspace gives you the option of a profile, but it could ultimately be completely private top to bottom. If you're a loser, this is the option for you. But if you are even worse and don't know how to mess with simple prompts on whether you want your top friends to show or not... well, then have a happy life under the rock you've been all along. Someone once said (which I absolutely agree): "I am patient with stupidity but not with those who are proud of it." So long suckaa!!!!!!

ok, myspace is better then facebook because, here's something i found, totallly proving to you myspace haters, 1. Traffic. No one can deny the masses that click their way to MySpace everyday. Hitwise data from December 2006 puts MySpace at No. 1, ahead of both Yahoo! and Google. They also have two subdomains in the Top 20. The mail domain comes in at No. 5 in traffic and their blog platform is No. 14. Facebook has respectable traffic, but fails to crack the Top 10. Want user data? How 'bout 155 million-plus and growing. 2. Brand leader. MySpace has become synonymous with "social networking for the masses." Facebook, which used to have firm residence in the hip, college-only market position is now trying to out-MySpace MySpace. Ain't happenin'. 3. Media powerhouse. Videos, music, concerts, films, comedy acts, IM and photos help make MySpace an impressive outlet to consume media today and is sure to only get more dominant in the future. 4. Rock 'n' roll will never die. In l

Man u seriously dont know what your talking about.. myspace soon will have deals with google and ebay where as facebook isnt even close.. on myspace you can randomize ur top friends so you dont have to feel judged.. and who cares what people like.. thats their problem.. if u dnt like the fact that they listen to fallout bad luck.. pause the song.. ohh and wheres facebooks million of songs? aww there is none.. songs, videos, profile edeting makes myspace more enjoyable and fun and it still can do everything facebook can.. if i wanted to just talk to people i would use msn.. its much better and does the same thing as facebook.. facebook will be a thing of the past

Facebook is safer and simpler. Myspace is wilder and more colorful. I don't have a myspace account. Don't think I'll need it. But I'm on facebook and I like facebook.

No one is making you do anything on myspace. Why the hell would you want to add people for the sake of having more "friends"? Only add people you like. Done. And no one says you have to have people in your top friends, I put in bands I like instead. Problem solved. Lastly, if people "pimp" their profile then avoid it. You can message/comment them without going to their profile page. All of these complaints people have are pretty ridiculous. If you're involved in "drama" online then maybe you shouldn't be on social networking sites to begin with. I'm not saying myspace is the best thing since sliced bread, of course it's overrated. All I'm saying is exercise your own power and know how to avoid the crap.

Myspace is now overrated. I cannot stand when people "pimp their profile" to the point where it becomes unloadable. I hate the Top Friends, I can't stand the profile views number, and the "pressure" to be the most popular chick/dude on myspace. Why would you add people you don't even know? That's not cool at all. And I do agree, Myspace is just an outlet for drama. Almost everyday, I overhear someone talking about getting bitched out over myspace. That's just stupid because even if you win a "type fight," you're still a dumb f**k.
