Hair Tips for Multicultural Children with 2A to 3A Hair Texture
Believe it or not, children want to have nice-looking hair, too. They may not convey this the same way as we do, but rest assured a child with groomed hair is a happy child.
By no means am I saying that children must look great at all times, because I am first to say that one second my son looks ready for the a photo shoot and the next, he looks ready for a bath, but what I am saying is
that it is our responsibility as parents to promote good self esteem and grooming . If your child has a wavy to curly 3A hair texture , there is an easy a d quick regime to follow to retain moisture and keep their hair from looking frizzy, and it is easy.
You will need to purchase a good moisturizing shampoo such as Pantene's Moisture Renewal and the related conditioner. You will also need a good pomade that is lightweight for their hair. I use New Era's Shea Butter Hair Cream, and it is excellent for my son's hair. The cream is thick and a little goes a long way. One container will last a very long time depending on the thickness of your child's hair. You may be tempted to use it yourself once you see the results. An alternative to the New Era product is a styling cream in a pump called Hawaiian Silky 14 in 1 conditioner. This product is also very thick and a little will go a long way. The Hawaiian Silky is a bit more greasy than the New Era but both provide excellent results. The Pantene products can be found at any Rx store and the New Era Shea Butter Styling Cream and Hawaiian Silky 14 in 1 can be found at your local Sally Beauty Supply and online. All of these products can be purchased for under 25 dollars.
By simply applying a dime size to my son's hair I can brush his hair into a straight style or create frizz free waves.
(1)First, during bath time, shampoo and condition the hair.
(2) If your child's hair is dry allow the conditioner to stay in the hair until close to the end of the bath. Rinse the hair and squeeze excess water out. Just as with our hair, do not towel dry the hair, this will cause the hair to frizz. Just gently squeeze out excess water.
(3)While the hair is wet apply a dime size of the New Era Shea Butter Styling Cream and style as desired.
