For the Week June 19, 2008 Through June 25, 2008

Welcome to the latest installment of our series. If you would like to get caught up on things you can go back and read our other articles. We are experiencing what everyone else is with higher gas and food prices and we are trying to make things work by stretching our dollar as much as we can at our weekly grocery trips. Here is what we did last week.

Total Spent: $308.95 31.62% Savings

You may notice that our bill was pretty low last week and this is because we were so well stocked up that we only needed a few things, mostly perishable stuff. Although after just 3 weeks of our fiscal month we have already spent more than our goal of $300 for the month. This is partly due to all the stocking up we did earlier in the month. However we expect our expenditures to be pretty low for the next few weeks. Now let's talk about the best specials Publix Supermarkets has to offer from June 19 through June 25, 2008.

Fresh Express Salad Bend - 2 for $5

Eat Smart Veggies - 3 for $5 10 or 12 oz Package - Great small portions of superfoods like broccoli.

Tomatoes on the Vine $0.89 per lb. - The tomatoes in Florida are perfectly safe and also cheap at this price. It is also a healthy food that you should buy regularly.

StarKist Solid White Albacore Tuna 4 pack 6oz - Buy 1 Get 1 Free - A good & healthy kitchen staple. It goes on sale often so you don't have to go wild here.

Kashi All Natural Entree and Kashi All Natural Pizza- Buy 1 Get 1 Free - I have never had either of these products but it is a good brand and worth trying at Buy 1 Get 1 Free.

Perdue Chicken Breast Cutlets - $3.99per lb. - The $1.99 per lb chicken special hasn't been offered lately, so I guess we have to splurge here.

Blueberries, Strawberries, Raspberries - 2 for $5 - Never seen all of them on sale at the same time, but this is a good time to get your favorite fruit.

Simply Orange Juice - 2 for $6 - You can usually find OJ on sale, different brands.
