The Burger Fit for a King

2
Who would have thought that The Burger will cost a whopping $200? Has the food world gone mad? It's crazy enough that the said burger is gonna cost you a couple of days' wage but what's even nuttier is that it was created by Burger King (and in West London too!). That's right, you won't find The Burger in Michelin-rated gourmet restaurants. Na-ah.

After you've gotten over the initial shock, let's look at the snobbish ingredients of the most expensive hamburger on earth.

Wagyu Beef
A Wagyu refers to breeds of cattle that are given a special diet of beer and sake. The meat that comes from the cattle have intense marbling. It's a melt in your mouth goodness, but it comes with a price, a hefty price which can go from $50 to $150 per pound. An average carcass is said to cost between $10,000 and $20,000.

White Truffles
This is basically an edible fungi that are found in northern Italy. It takes skills and an acute sense of smell to look for these highly priced ingredient, hence dogs and pigs are trained to track them down. They cost between $1,000 to $3,000 per pound. I'm starting to think that people only want this fungi because of its aphrodisiac properties. My advice: Try Shitake.

Pata Negra Ham Slices
This type of ham comes from the Black Iberian Pig who are fed with acorns. It is known to have a high fat content. One of the unique characters of this ham is the beautiful marbling of fat and meat which makes it very tasty. No, a pig frolicking in mud doesn't count as Black Iberian pig.

Cristal Onion Straw
These are onions fried in Cristal Champagne. A bottle of Cristal cost about $350. I'm pretty sure these onions are partying in the pan, but I don't think Jay-Z will be attending.

Modena Balsamic Vinegar
Balsamic vinegar is basically a flavored vinegar used for salad dressing, marinades, and sauces. Those that are made in Modena, Italy are said to be thick and dark with a sweet taste, which makes it more expensive.

Lamb's Lettuce
This is a fancy name for a salad green. No, it's didn't come from any part of a lamb. It is so named because the shape of the lettuce resembles that of the lamb's tongue. No, they don't say Baa!

The Burger is the most expensive hamburger in the world.
