Today's Values VS. Yesterday's Values

On the table is a pickle jar, a bucket of golf balls, a bucket of sand, a bucket of pebbles, and a fresh cup of hot coffee.  First, the golf balls are put inside the jar one at a time until the jar cannot fit anymore.  Second, as many pebbles that can fit are put inside the pickle jar.  Third, the sand is poured into the jar and packed as tight as it can be.  Finally, the cup of coffee is poured into the jar.
