The 3rd Annual North Shore Tow-In Surfing Championship is ON once again for the upcoming 2006/2007 Winter Big Wave Surf Season on Oahu in Hawaii. The holding period for the Event will be December 15th, 2006  March 31st, 2007, with the actual contest to take place ONE DAY ONLY on the Biggest and Best day of Surf on the Outer Reefs known as Avalanche and Puaena Point which are over a mile outside of Haleiwa Small Boat Harbor on the North Shore of Oahu in Hawaii. The confirmed minimum prize purse for this year's event is minimum $25,000.00.

This year, the APT (The Association of Professional Towsurfers) has come on board as the Event Sanctioning Representative Body. The APT has created and launched the APT World Tour Tow-In Surfing Circuit  for 2006-2007. This is Huge News for the Extreme Sport of Big Wave Tow-In Surfing and Tremendous News for Hawaii, the Big Wave Capital of the World.

APT Vice President: Rodney Kilborn will be representing the circuit as the official APT event sanctioning director. Rodney's job will be to support all event directors in every aspect of the contest including finalizing all invite lists with each director. His responsibility also includes the implementation of APT's event rules, heat format, judging, water safety, membership and state tow-in licensing requirements. Rodney provides the APT with many years of experience with a solid reputation acting as the event director for two successful tow-in events held at Peahi/Jaws on the North Shore of Maui.

The 3rd Annual North Shore Tow-In Surfing Championship 2006-2007 should be bigger and better than ever this year. With another planetary "El Nino" weather episode having begun in the Equatorial Pacific in October 2006, the waves should get massive in Hawaii during this year's 2006-2007 Winter Big Wave Surf Season on Oahu.
