I lie submerged under the cold soil
The stiffness has set in
I look up
All I see is darkness
My heartbeat no longer present
But the ache remains
The solitude continues
Alone in death
Just as I was in life
Nothing ever changed
Loneliness my constant companion
My best friend
The only think I had to rely on
Is the one thing I never wanted

I wonder if this will be true for us when we pass on...If there is an afterworld, I hope all those who have been in terrrible pain will not have to suffer any more. Very deep, Steph, very deep. . . .
