Planning a Move to Spring Hill, Florida?

Things You Should Know!

When my husband and I moved to Florida from Kentucky, we we looking for the dream. White sandy beaches, ocean views, and palm trees were on the agenda. We decided on the Largo, Florida area first, and quickly ran away. Pinellas County sure has nice beaches, and everyone else knows it too. It was so overcrowded and had a poor selection of schools (at least if you were looking to get you little ones in a nice school "this" year.) So off we were, in search of a nice quiet family town. We found it. Spring Hill has a slower feeling to it. When we arrived, we thought.....perfect! Well, maybe not perfect.

There are still many places to go in Spring Hill. It borders the town of Brooksville, and they are essentially one and the same. They have an Old Navy, Bealls, Sears, 2 Walmarts, and a brand new J.C. Penney, among others. There are nice restaurants to the tune of Outback, Chili's, and Red Lobster. Spring Hill also boasts the Hernando Beach area, which actually does not include a beach. If you are a boater however, it is lovely. There are plenty of public access areas to drop a boat. This whole area is known as Florida's Nature Coast. I would say that is spot on. It is not a tourist attraction, but I think that is kind of nice! In the area of Aripeka, you will see beautiful sights. There are forests of natural palm trees that go on as far as the eye can see. There is also the quaint, shallow, and small beach area of Pine Island. I personally loved this little area. I took my children to play on the play equipment and let them splash around in the ocean. It is a very beautiful place if you do not compare it to a beach, but rather to a park.
