Heated ceramic floor are a luxury for those cold winter days, or the homeowner that wants to step out of the shower and step on a heated surface that looks attractive, like ceramic tiles. These personal warming systems are growing in popularity as it is a project that can be completed through the weekend, and do-it-yourself kits are available at the local home renovations store. The majority of tiles for heated ceramic floor systems measure less than 1/8" thick, this means, that they are going to be a breeze to install for the homeowner. With the instance of rising fuel costs, this heat that come from the ground up could save you money in the long run. There are no special tools that are required to complete the installation of a heated ceramic floor. These tools are; ceramic tile heated installation kit, grout, a spreader, shims for the spacing of the tiles, and a means to cut the tiles to fit into awkward areas, 2x4's and plywood are required to set the floor. Two inches of rise from the floor will be sufficient to install the rubber tubing required to heat the floor. Sand or gravel is required in the floor to work as a conductor for the heat and will evenly disperse it throughout the floor.
Most homeowners that are installing the heated ceramic floor are working with basic concrete foundation. For this reason, it is important that we build a frame for the floor to be laid upon. This can be done by placing the 2x4's about twelve inches apart throughout the floor, and topping it with the plywood after the tubing, and sand have been installed. You have the pieces of wood cut at the home store to save time and energy with your weekend installation project. After the bases have been laid, it is time to top it with plywood. This is going to be the sub-floor for the heated ceramic floor.
