Saudi King Abdullah decides to increase oil output to lower gas prices around the world according to CNN news. This Arabian leader finally heard the cry from the leaders of several nations about the crushing affects of the current high price of gas. As a result, the usual 9 million barrel a day production will increase to 9.7 million. It is a long awaited move from King Abdullah. So what does this mean to you and me? It means that gas prices will stay at their current levels or maybe even lower.

The over production of oil is why gas prices were able to stay in line with American inflation rates for years. There was more than enough gas, so the price per barrel was reasonable. However, as the demand of oil grew and its production didn't, the price of a barrel rose and so did the price of gas at the pump. It's the reason why many Americans are paying over $4 a gallon today. However, the current news of more oil production really isn't a long-term answer. Why? No one knows how long Saudi King Abdullah will consider the needs of the world, especially since he blames everyone else for the current gas crisis.

Yes, Saudi King Abdullah blames other nations like America for their current gas crisis. He believes that if the people in these nations were better conservers, they wouldn't be paying for it at the pump. So, the biggest thing that needs to change is the Western lifestyle. Whether you agree or not, these words cut to the bone. They pretty much let leaders and constituents outside of his world know that his assistance is only temporary. Therefore, everyone must explore other methods of controlling gas prices.
