Doctor Who Meets Professor River Song

Another Time Travel Adventure

The new season of Doctor Who is approaching the end. This season The Doctor, played by David Tennant, and his newest companion, Donna Noble, played by Catherine Tate, have visited the Ood-Sphere and liberated the servant Ood. The twosome, along with former companion Martha Jones, played
by Freema Agyeman, thwarted the plans of the Sontarans to turn Earth into a Clone World. They've even met the Doctor's Daughter but in the eighth and ninth episodes of the new season the two meet someone who will one day be very important to The Doctor, Professor River Song, played by Alex Kingston.

Written by Steven Moffat, who will be heading up Doctor Who when current show runner Russell T. Davies leaves his post after the 2009 specials, who is known for his edge of your seat episodes like The Doctor Dances and The Empty Child, The Girl in the Fireplace, and Blink. Moffat plays on the fears in everyone and this time is no exception. He also loves to use the time travel story device to give a new layer to the show that most scripts stay away from. Moffat likes to put The Doctor in unique circumstances.

The first episode of this two-parter is called Silence in the Library. The Doctor and Donna Noble arrive on a world that is a huge library. The library covers the entire planet. The visual effects of seeing this played out is enough to want to watch the program over and over, however the script writing and the acting is also dead on. As the two arrive they find the entire planet is empty, there are no people on the planet at all. They find what is called Nodes, these are electronic informational centers with human faces. The Doctor explains that people would donate themselves to be made into Nodes. Donna thinks they are just creepy. They act as informational spots within the Library.
