Marvel comics used to have a line of comic books that focused on a familiar question within the science-fiction and fantasy line; What if? The comics would explore that question for most of their top of the line characters. What if Spiderman didn't have Spider powers? What if the Incredible Hulk could control the beast within? What if? What if? The latest episode of Doctor Who, the popular British sci-fi television series focuses on this very question. What if Donna Noble took a right turn instead of a left? That one pivotal moment in her life could change the history of the world, if not the universe. This episode, called "Turn Left", focuses on Donna Noble, played by Catherine Tate. Her and The Doctor, played by David Tennant, are visiting an alien world that seems to have an Oriental influence. While The Doctor is speaking to a vendor, Donna is invited to get her fortune told. She tries to wave off the invitation, however the fortuneteller is persistent and Donna goes inside to get her fortune told. The fortuneteller (played wonderfully by Chipo Chung, who last appeared in the third season episode "Utopia") does not focus on Donna's future, she is intrigued by Donna's past. What decision in her life lead her to her traveling companion? It comes to a decision to turn left or to turn right. Donna was going to a job interview with H.E. Clements, the company where she would meet and eventually agree to marry Lance, the man who was dosing her coffee with Huon Particles that would allow the Queen Racnos to free her children at the center of the Earth. These events, in the 2006 Christmas Special, The Runaway Bride, would not have occurred had Donna not taken the job.
