Q & A with Gary Wilson (2005)

Santangelo: What would you say has been your worst encounter with a lady?

Wilson: I moved in with a girl many years ago. I was deeply in love with her. A short time later the relationship started to go bad and everything became uncomfortable. I knew something was wrong. Next thing I found out she was dating my friend. It saddened me on both ends. Losing my girlfriend and finding out that I couldn't trust my friend. My lifetime philosophy on the subject, don't mess with someone's wife or girlfriend. Listen to "Gary Saw Linda Last Night Kissing Frank Roma". After hearing the song you will know what I mean.

Santangelo: Have you ever suffered with nightmares or had very vivid dreams? If yes, any particular one comes to mind?

Wilson: One of the most vivid dreams I had involved being in a village near Ithaca, New York. It seems like it took place in ancient times. The dream felt like weeks went by. Just doing normal things, but in a time that took place 1000 or 2000 years ago. Trying to normalize in a village from the past, doing mundane things like going to the town village to get food, going to the village to find entertainment. The clothing seemed like something from an ancient Swiss village. It was scary yet beautiful in its own way. Everything was so real. It seems like the village was called the Village Of Never.

I think that memory patterns from distant relatives, in our genes might show up in our dreams. Sometimes a baby grows up to look like a distant relative. The child inherits his grandfather's nose or eyes, [the] same thing with memory patterns and thoughts. Maybe once and a while the thoughts and memories of distant relatives comes through to our brains and that's why some dreams are so real and full of detail. We are reliving the memories of long, dead relatives passed on thru generations of genes.

Santangelo: What were your feelings upon returning to your childhood home in Endicott? Did you have any regrets about leaving?
