Britney Spears Files for Divorce from Kevin Federline

Britney Spears has filed for divorce Tuesday from Kevin Federline, officials news organizations are reporting. 

According to spokeswoman Kathy Roberts of the Los Angeles County Superior Court, Britney Spears' filing papers names "irreconcilable differences," as the reason for her impending divorce from 28-year-old Kevin Federline, also known as K-Fed. 

Britney, who is now 24, married Kevin in 2004. 

The popular couple have a son, 1, named Sean Preston and another baby son - named Jayden James Federline - whose birth date was mere months ago on Sept. 12, 2006. 

Britney Spears' lawyer, Laura Wasser, has not returned calls made to her by other news organizations. Britney's marriage to K-Fed came only eight months after ending her short-lived union with Jason Alexander, Britney's childhood friend.

According to Spears, the separation date between Britney and Kevin was Monday, which happened to be the same day that Britney surprised David Letterman looking awesome and svelte in her first post-partum public appearance after the second son was born.
