Back in March I wrote an article here on Associated Content about a man who was selling his entire life on ebay. The man 44 year old Ian Usher, of Perth located in Western Australia is not selling his right to breathe and pump blood, but is instead selling his worldly processions. What this means exactly is that he will be selling his house, and everything in it, his vehicle and all of his out door gear and recreational vehicles, the highest bidder will also get some face time with his friends, and a trial run at his job. The original article has a lot more information about what the highest bidder will actually get and can be viewed here.http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/670307/man_sells_his_life_on_ebay.html?page=3&cat=15
Well the auction has officially begun; in fact it began yesterday, June 22, 2008 at noon as planned. The auction is to run for 7 days, and as of this moment there are approximately 5 days and 10 hours left of the auction. The auction will come to a close this Sunday, June, 29th at noon.
Bidders for this ebay auction must be pre-approved. I am guessing to route out those who intend to fraud or those who choose to participate as a joke. They are obviously assuring that only serious bidders participate in this auction. Despite this there have been a number of retracted and cancelled bids. Some listed as not genuine bids.
What might interest some people is that Usher is no stranger to ebay. Usher has been a member of ebay since 2001 and has 312 feedbacks, and has a current rating of 100%.
The bidding actually started out at $1.00 and quickly jumped to $200.00. Ten minutes later the bid was up to $15,000 and has been going up since then. Usher is hoping to get $500,000 in total. Currently after a little more than 24 hours after the auction began the bid is up to 300,100.00. There have been 9 different bidders so far, and 24 legitimate bids so far. The bidder member names are not listed instead they have been assigned the names of bidder #'s.
Those who are interested in getting in on the bidding can find the auction located here:
